Apple tablet




There has been leaks of pictures over the internet of sepculation of what looks like a Apple tablet. The tablet has a 10 inch screen and looks like a larger iphone. There has been tips claiming it will be $800 with verizon and $1000 without a contract when it arrives in March. Th picture shows a Wifi icon and a Cell service indicator.

Haiti earthquake




An earthquake that had a magnitude of 7.0 devastated the city of Port-au-Prince in the country of Haiti. The location of Haiti is in the caribbian near Cuba. The estimated deathtoll in the country is said to be in the thousands and among them are the Roman Catholic archbishop of Port-au-Prince. It is also reported that the head of the UN peacekeeping was missing. Red Cross spokesman Paul Conneally said a third of Haiti's 9 million people may need emergency aid and that it would take a day or two for a clear picture of the damage to emerge. Canada foreign minister has reported that they had sent a small reconnaissance team to assess the damage.

One student triggered our Symantec Endpoint Protection anti-virus system. The name of the threat is Mal/FunDF-A. This is a false positive virus and a false alarm.

Dell goes pro




Dell has released its first WQHD monitor: the 27-inch UltraSharp U2711. It has a native 2,560 x 1,440 resolution, billion-color depth and IPS technology, 6millisecond response time, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 350 nits of brightness and a 12-bit internal processing help to round things out. The monitor also has a HDMI 1.3, DisplayPort, DVI-D (x2), VGA, composite, component, USB (x4) and an 8-in-1 multicard reader.
